    Need a little educatin

I have B&W 703's with matching cc/surrounds arriving in the next few days. I had originally wanted to buy outlaw amp (model 770 200w) but noticed that the cc/surrounds are rated up to 150w. Is there a danger with hooking up said amp with these speakers at normal to mildly elevated listening levels. If so, what other amps do you al recommend besides rotel.

No you can never over power a speaker with too large an amp...though that's obviously not to say you can't damange it just that you're likely going to damage a driver by pushing a small amp to clipping vs a larger amp that's loafing along.

If so, what other amps do you al recommend besides rotel.
Nope Rotel's all you need :B You knew I had to say that...but seriously there's a variety of very nice power amp companies out there esp in the used market. What's your budget and how many channels do you need?

      Amp Bias?
      by clarkbox
Can anyone tell me more about my amps bias? I have the Rotel RB-1080.

When i asked the dealer what causes one side/channel to become hotter than the opposite, he said it was likely due to the bias setting found under the covers.

The left side of this amp stays mildly warm,...

Need Help on New Amp for CT-SSP
      by mfrizzzz
About a year ago, I upgraded from a 10 year-old Lexicon MC-1 to the CCT-SSP and the sonic differences were astounding for both movies and cd listening. The biggest difference I have ever experienced in upgrading a single component in my system. I have Martin Logan Odessey towers in the front, ML Aerius...

      2 Parasound 855 or 1 Larger Amp
      by Jeff Aguilar
Soon, I should be going the route of seperates. I would like to make this as inexpensive as possible. I was thinking of getting the 950 as a pre-pro but in the interm, I would use my Yamaha 992.

Would it be a good idea to get 2 Parasound 855's and bi-amp the front three or would it be...

6 or 7 channel Amp recommendations?
      by Kevin P
As I've been reading people's posts on their new pre-pros, I've been researching my eventual move to separates myself. Although I can't afford to upgrade yet, I'd like to be prepared for when I can. Although I've been reading posts on pre-pros, I've come to realize I really should be researching amps...
