    Which amp?

    Hi all!
    I'm looking for something to move B&W 700 series speakers used in an HT system.

    I'm thinking about:
    -Rotel RSP-1066 (or new 1068) pre/pro+ Rotel RMB-1075 amp
    -DENON AVC-A11SR
    -HK AVR-8500
    -Marantz SR-8300

    I'm going to shops to listen all that stuff, but i would like to have your opinon about past expereiences, pro/cons or whatsoever.

      Hello Andrea, welcome to The Guide! :later: How are things in Italy? I haven't heard the units you are asking about, so I cannot help you with your question. I just wanted to say "hi".

      I AM thinking you will get several recommendations for the Rotel equipment here.

          Italy is always the same....a little step behind.

          Probably those products have different codes in our countries.
          Or they are too low level for you and u don't know them.

              The Denon is known by a different model number here but we have the Rotel and Marantz units. Of the ones you listed I can easily recomend the Rotel's. Now that might seem bias as I am the Moderator of Club Rotel here but its also the only seperates on your list which makes it an easy pick

                      Hiya, Kakaroth! Always good to see a new international face here on the Guide. It's been about 2 years since I was last in Milan, myself. Beautiful city.

                      I'll also chime in and recommend you go the separates route. With you having Rotel available as an option, that choice just is that much better. That's what I would do!

                          Thanx all for replies.

                          I've seen several guys suggesting to run on separate systems.
                          Actually this way is my first choice, and i think that Rotel can provide good quality (for my not trained ears) at a right price. Probably there is something better than Rotel but it seems that closest next quality level is too much expensive (2 or 3 times Rotels prices?).

                              Yes that about sums it up nicely ) Plus Rotel has very good after market service and you have Club Rotel right here to learn from too:T
