    Who's running B&W 603 or 604s with NO SUB?

Looking for any feedback regarding either set of speakers on the 2 channel music front and also HT usage what are the results. Do you really miss the giant rumble of explosions or the bass slamming from music.
I would like to avoid or hold off a Sub purchase and run these speakers as Large front setting. Is the power amp going to suffer or be pushed too much without a sub. Please advise

    Thanks

I suppose my answers would be: it depends and it depends. First, it will depend on what type of music you listen to. If you listen to rap or metal, yes, you will miss the 'slam' or 'boom'. I've never thought that B&W excells with music I categorize as 'slammin'. I'd put that more in the realm of Definitive Technology.

If you listen to music and watch movies at decent (non-excessive) levels then 2-channel won't damage anything. Just get the best speakers you can afford, save up more money and get the best sub you can.
Patience is a good thing, else you'll end up with something you don't want.

      601 s3's + sub or 603's
      by corysmith01
I've got the upgrade bug, but very limited funds and I thought of one that's definitely within budget, but was wondering how practical it is. I'm currently running 601 s3's as my mains. Now under most circumstances, I'm sure everyone would chime in that those are not enough speaker to be used as mains...however,...

      Hi,

For some time I've been looking for new speakers to replace my old 110i's (still love them ). I wanted to buy a ht-system, based on 602s and 601s, but I listen much more music than wathing movies, so I decided to spend some more money to buy some better fronts. In future I want...

      602 s3 vs 603 s2
      by big G
I have new 602 s3's and have the option to trade for 603 s2's even. The 603 s2's have been used as rear speakers on a rotel 5.1/b&w system for 3 years. The 603's are my brothers and he feels he doesn't really utilize them because that are surrounds only. He is simply offering as a favor.

      603 s3's and NAD 2200 amp
      by Zeller74
Long time lurker, first time posting.

Looking to see if anyone is running this combo or any B&W with the 2200 amp and your opinion.

It's a vintage (87-89) G class amp, that has some crazy + 6 db of dynamic headroom...needless to say it can produce loud, clean, punchy...
