I'm having a house built and want to pre-wire for speakers. My family room will be 16ft x 19ft wide and 10ft ceilings, listening area is against a wall and don't have two side walls for surrounds, do I pre-wire for speakers in the ceiling or the back? Great forum and thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Hery, welcome to The Guide! We hope you like it here.
I'd vote for the rear wall with the connects spaced as far apart as possible if you are using direct-radiators for your surrounds. That way you can point them at the listening position and have a bit of separation. The ceiling is a decent alternative, especially if you are using dipole surrounds.
Direct-radiators are standard speakers that fire forward towards the listener, and dipoles are speakers that fire in opposite directions with the listener sitting between the directions the sound is firing. If I've made that clear as mud, here's a link to Dolby's site showing possible surround speaker set-ups.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
