Actually I think it was intended for computers not cars but apparently it can work for a HT pre amp if you can live with its features...no idea on sound quality though

Yes, I think it was designed to support computer gaming. It certainly can suffice as a basic HT application though. As I stated, not too bad if you are just running a few sources.

Midiland makes one too (their PC speakers are very good as well). The Midiland processor is $129 http://www.midiland.com/hotnews.asp?linenumber=40

Every once in awhile in the audio world a piece of equipment comes along that is so incredible that it deserves special mention among a plethora of mediocre components, and the new THX EX equipped Tag McLaren AV32R is one such piece. Hello All,

I am in the market for a new pre-pro and wanted your guy’s opinions on my options. I have been reading a lot for about 3 months, but still would like some more opinions. The main things I can looking for in new pre-pro are excellent audio detail and a good wide open soundstage....

            DVD & pre/pro pairing
            by jazznsoccer

However, this DVD player seems to be so good that I should bypass all of my pre/pro circuitry and just analog bypass on to my amp. Now the question is why should I buy a high end pre/pro (such as Rotel 1098) to go...

Hey, thanks to coming here you folks have pulled me over to the DARK SIDE of separates.

I bought the Krell Showcase 5 (two weeks ago) and with my speakers (as some have predicted) the system is pretty bright particularly at high volumes. Could we really expect anything different for a...

How does your pre/pro stack up for two channel?
            by Burke Strickland
Some pre/pros that are highly regarded for the quality of their presentation on HT surround modes (DTS, DD 5.1, et al) are not considered truly appropriate for "audiophile" two channel music playback, especially those lacking an analog pass-through. Others have DACs that are easily surpassed...
