    4 front tower speakers

Hi, new to ht and was reading about bi amping my tower speakers and wondered if it would be better to get another two identical tower speakers side by side left and right existing ones and split the bi amp between the two each side?
Surely this would give more sound improvement than bi amping two speakers alone?

I have not found an example of anyone doing this as yet :B

I would say that's a big no. You're going to create more issues then better sound going that route.

Welcome to the forum Hrsturbo123 !!. I agree with Hdale on this one. Don't complicate things. In addition to agreeing with him above, you will be needlessly taxing your amp and only duplicating issues. Now, if you want to use additional identical speakers for surrounds then that is a good idea!!. Even the idea of getting better sound by Bi-amping is subject to debate.

I'll also add a welcome!

I'm in agreement with the guys--I would not use two speakers per channel. Just sonically, you're going to get interference between the two and create extra sound nulls.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

The only place I use multi speakers for one channel is the surrounds. What I do is use one per row of seats in a dedicated room. This really fill the room well and gives more good seats in the house.
The front sound stage always only has one speaker per channel including the surround back channels in a 6 or 7.1 system.

Bi-Amping 800 Series Speakers - Is it the Way to Go?
            by moonlightdrive21
Over the weekend, I visited a B&W dealer who also carried Macintosh and other high-end equipment. They had many things on display, including several of the 800 series B&W speakers.

I mentioned to the salesman that I have B&W 802D's and the HTM2D (center channel), which...

            Hi,

I hace recently purchased the RSX1055 and was wondering about bi-amping to my speakers.

My speakers are Krix Lyrix ( Aussie speakers) and are rated at 89db into 4 ohms. They are a twin bass driver and a soft dome tweeter. Would you recommend biamping?

            RA-1062 upgrade / Bi-amping?
            by soren
            Hello,

I’m the happy owner of the RA-1062 integrated amp, a set of Linn Katan speakers, and a Beresford TC-7520 DAC. But, for some time now I’ve thought about upgrading my system (without spending too much money though).

Since the Katans can be bi-amped (passive and...

            Bi-amping...can it damage your speakers?

            Hello people
            Nice to have found you
To my question... is there any way bi-amping can damage the way the speakers are suposed to sound (apart from leaving the gold plates on -which IS NOT the case ).
I have been recently messing around with my speakers and trying different...

Has anyone given it a try? And if so what were your thoughts. Did you use 2 identical amps (vertical) or two different amps (horizontal). Did you use an external active crossover & bypass the speakers passive crossover? In the end was it worth the expense & the trouble. Just toying with the...
