    Denon AVR988 Troubles

Hi I just got a Denon AVR988 off ebay and it is having issues. The receiver will make clicking noises and the front panel will display "H/P Input On" and the sound will go off, it will click again and display "H/P Input off and the sound will come back on. It does this randomly and if the last display says "H/P input on" there is no sound if it displays "H/P Input off" then I get sound.

I understand that the H/P Input on, message means the headphones are engaged so no sound and if it says off then the signal is sent to the speakers.

Anyone know what this nonsence is all about ?

thanks .... cool forum by the way.

Sounds like an internal setting in the phono input of the Denon. Maybe the Denon's phono input is set to auto/on.....? Meaning there must be a way to turn this on/off at your leisure......? I'll research this a little and check back later for you. :T
