    Receiver help

Hi, I think I have fried my Sony receiver, but hope not maybe you can help. I was rewiring the speakers with the power on ( I know, very stupid) and I saw a flash of light from the receiver and lost all sound. The lights come on except for the part that says tv dvd tuner etc. I unplugged the unit for a few hours and have redone the speakers again but no luck. Is there a fuse that may have blown? How can I fix it?
    Thanks

Yup, that's a no-no. Most likely, you've AT LEAST popped a fuse, if not more. You can open the case, find the fuse or fuses and replace them yourself, and then close the case and try it again, or just take the whole thing to a repair facility.

If you do play with it yourself, use extreme caution, don't touch anything inside you don't need to, and ABSOLUTELY unplug it first.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

HK Receiver to Rotel 1080 Amp Help
      by m1ke323
I just bought a Rotel 1080 to use for my tower speakers I am building. Previously I was just using my HK 225 receiver to power my speakers. I hooked up the amp with RCA cables from my HK receiver, I tried the Video 1 out, Video 2 out, Tape out, etc.

When I tried to use the amp to power...

      Problem with RSX-1057

I was watching HEAT on Blu-ray and half way in, the receiver went quiet except for the LFE. I put a fan on the receiver to cool it down and it started back up.

Problem is only the center channel seems to have the same dynamic range when in 5 channel...

      RB-991 keeps blowing main fuse
      by kingwilliam
      Hi all...

The problem: My RB-991 blew its main 12-amp fuse the other day (the fuse you can easily change from the back). I tried 10-amp fuses, but blew three in a row. No other components or speakers were hooked up to the amp. I unplugged the amp from the wall before swapping fuses....

      Rotel RA-02: Blown fuse
      by sam500
I stupidly blew a fuse in my RA-02 amp. I've taken off the cover, located the fuse in question and just wanted to make sure that the new fuse I have bought has the right spec.

      The RA-02 takes a T4A 250v fuse. I've just picked up a '4A 250v' fuse. How important is the T ?! Will the 4A...

      Anyone solved 1080 Fuse issue?
      by Mitchell
Has anyone found a long term solution to the 1080 fuse issue?
Some of the blown fuse posts seem to have started in early 2004. Has anyone who has blown a fuse managed to go at least 6-8 months without blowing them again and if so did they leave it on all the time, not use trigger or some combination?...
