Is McIntosh really worth all that extra money? I've considered purchasing a McIntosh DVD player, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost? From what I've seen they run around $3500?

I think the amplifiers are good, but cannot justify the money.
Today a good blu-ray player would provide better quality then any current Mc DVD Player. If your after a reference player there is one called... hmm... DVDO? I think Home Theater Secrets use it... apparently very good.SoundEngine355

What best player only for DVD-Audio? The main thing - the quiet reading discs. I can listen to at night. May be Classe Audio CDP502?
