    Clock Outlet

Has anyone installed a clock outlet behind their on-wall plasma or lcd television? If so has anyone purchased one with surge protection or circuit breaker protection? I was wondering if this was necessary or just another added expense. I know its decent insurance but I dont know anyone that ever had there tv blown up or stereo system damaged from any occurrence. Where i live we dont have many power surges either. Plus if there was a problem I would think the circuit breaker would trigger.

Yes, I installed the Panamax MAX-in-wall outlet system but I cannot answer your other questions.

It's a recessed receptacle. That way the power cord end doesn't stick out.

I would recommend the Panamax MAX In-Wall. Panamax makes great surge protectors and they really stand behind their products and warranty. I've seen plenty of customers that have had surges damage TV's, A/V gear and computers. For the price, it's worth the peace of mind and, in this case, convenience.

Doesnt apear that to many companies even make these. Looks like Monster does as well. But anyways, I will get'em. Also, do you need two of them? One for equipment, one for tv. Also, I guess a surge or whatever could travel through the receiver up into the TV via the HDMI cable... and also to protect the equipment.

For the Panamax warranty to be valid, all of the things in the system need to be plugged into one of their surge protectors. I would strongly recommend you get one for everything in your system anyway. For the amount that you invest in your system, it's not that much more to get high quality surge protectors.

I know you mentioned the Monster Cable pieces as well. I've sold, and owned, both and would get the Panamax. They are better surge protectors in my experience and just as good, if not better, in terms of line filtering.

I got to Panamax In Wall Outlets on Buy.com. I learned that you dont get the three year warranty if you buy from Buy.com as they are not a certified retailer for Panamax. They are the real deal but I figure three years is pretty limited and it saves a few dollars...

Mains protection activates often with my RMB-1075
                    by pbarata
I’ve the “European version” of Rotel RMB-1075 which means that works with 220 Volts /50 Hz mains voltage. The protection is ensured by a 15 Ampére breaker.

Whenever I power on the unit, it goes off often. Any clue on what could be wrong with it?

                    Thx

I'd like to invite everybody from the HTGuide forum to participate, as I'd like to know if the lack of an AutoEQ feature in the SSP-800 is a deal breaker for you, and causes you to look at competing products.

                    interconnects, Speaker wire, surge protection
                    by titan7
I have spent the last 3 hours researching interconnects. I currently have M.....r i300 mkII, 1 meter =$30. I thought these were ok but I have read so many review with half saying high priced cables are a waste and others saying it's not. I planned to stay at no more than $50-60 for a 1 meter cable....
