center placed vertically?

I need a pair of bookshelf speakers and can get a great deal on some Pinnace DigCtr 1000, which is advertised as a center channel. It has two 4.5 inch and a 1 inch tweeter. I would place the speaker vertically.

Is there any reason companies don't advertise centers as LCR? Would this speaker be any better/worse than say a "bookshelf" with one 5.5" and a 1" tweeter by the same company? Thanks for any suggestion.

Centers actually typically work better placed vertically. And no, there is no reason that a good 2 way bookshelf couldn't make an excellent center channel.
