    Decent TV stands?

    Hi guys,

New to this part of town - but I had a question that I was hoping some of you might be able to help me with.

I can't seem to find a TV A/V rack anywhere?

I need it between 80cm and 100cm in width to hold my 40" samsung, but it also needs to be roughly 50cm deep to house my Bladelius amplifier.

My source (DVD and CD) is a Mac Mini with external HDD, so will not take up much space, so a single shelf would be fine (The amp being 43cm wide)

The most crucial point I should add, I want something made from wood. I really don't like the look of metal racks, no matter how shiny!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thanks in advance

I recently bought a ZLine product from BJ's for our 42" Plasma, which was also available at CC for twice the price. It is a very nice piece, well built, and appealing as furniture. It has three glass shelves for housing your equipment, however it does have metal outer layer (dull finish), but this adds flavor to the stand, imho. I love wood as well, but couldn't help purchasing this piece

Bello makes some very nice pieces as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Peace and blessings,

    Azeke

Even though there are a lot of nice tv stands out there I can never find one that fits my needs. If you are the least bit handy and have some basic tools you can make a very nice, thats what I did. Its modeled after the Salamder Archetype racks and is very easy to make.

Sorry one thing I forgot to add - I am from England. I might have to look into building one myself!

          Thanks for your help...

Well that changes things! You should have a phenominal rage of furniture available to you.

            Have a look at these....

            Very popular and decent quality.

            Another UK retailer : http://www.stoneaudio.co.uk/

Finally, this crowd is Danish - I use their stuff for my 46" TV etc.. Available all over Europe. It's all modular so can me fully mixed and matched. Lovely realwood veneers used too.

If all else fails, buy What Home Cinema or somthing and check out the small ads. You'll find plenty.

Thanks for the links guys. I decided to make something instead today as I still can't find anything that really catches my eye.

I ended up using two concrete slabs and building an isolation platform from some spare wood and spikes I had lying around. It works great! For visual effect, I put some lights underneath for a cool blue glow!

You made that? Very nice. Like I said, there are lots of nice stands out there but even the ones with adjustable shelves arent perfect. Building one means you can customize to fit your gear in the configuration you want. Good job.

Very nice step there. I like the light affect under the stand. It really sets the mood.

You should visit the DIY section here, there is a thread just for DIY stands and racks, and yours would be a V nice addition.

Well I believe he just made the part the gear is sitting on. As you can see it's a flat piece of wood with spikes sitting on concrete slab But still very nice and good idea.

                        Stands / racks for Rotel
                        by audiojunky
I checked out the amazing pictures on this Forum of folks who own Rotels and I'm particularly impressed by the lovely stands/ racks that folks have used to keep their audio gear.

I would be interested to know where you purchase these products from?

                        Any suggestion for cable...

My front speakers are large bookshelf/small floorstanding that weigh around 19kg[45pd] each and are 60cm[2ft]tall.I have been using some stands that are 80cm tall with these speakers. The stands were bought for my previous fronts which were smaller and I know that the stands are too tall for my current...

                        by tboooe
Hi there. I am thinking about getting some stands for my 805S which are currently sitting on bar stools...

My question is, how do the speakers attach to the stands (screws, velcro, etc). I have a young daughter and another one coming so I want to make sure my precious speakers are...
