I just purchased this receiver and I'm only using front speakers right now and it sounds like the base is too loud. How should I adjust that?

I'm thinking of picking up a 1057 but wanted to know if it can receive PCM 96/24 audio via HDMI from a hd-dvd player. I read some other post that the 1057 only does video switching but wasn't sure that meant that it just didn't decode dts-hd, etc.

I have an interesting problem that may be one of ignorance oh how this is supposed to work. I have a upsampling CD player and am using the digital out on it to the rotel 1057. However, the digital readout for PCM only shows 44.1 khz instead of the much higher rate that im expecting. What am i missing/doing... -

My equipment consisted fo the follow before I added an amp.
RSX 1057, TV, Xbox 360 & DVD player. SPeakers were B&W 603 and a LCR600.
WHen I had this setup everything worked out fine, no buzzing. However once I added a Krell amp, I started to notice a buzzing noise... -
