I'm on the fence trying to choose between a used Rotel 1056 or a new Yamaha HTR-6090.

For better or worse, I bought the Yamaha HTR-6090.
It was on a limited time sale for $300 off & the specs appeared good.
My interest was to have the best sounding receiver, thus my comparison to the Rotel 1056. My limited knowledge of AV designer codecs & connections led me to get the latest model to avoid the "gee, if I'd have known" buyer's remorse.
My only experience, after stereo equipment, was a decision to convert my Pioneer SX-1250 to surround sound with an Adcom GSA-700 amp (100w x 3) & Adcom GDD-1 digital convertor. That turned out badly because of a poor wife acceptance factor for mutiple components & the complexity of control. I added to my woes by buying a Logitech Harmony 550 remote. Harmony's techs strung me out for over a month trying to get the Adcoms under control. I returned the remote for store credit & have the Adcoms up for sale in the local paper. I haven't built up the courage to sell my SX-1250. If the HTR-6090 performs well, I'll consider selling the SX-1250 to a good home.
I've yet to pick up the HTR-6090 & embark on the dreaded learning curve experience. Being retired, I have the time.Comment

Have you guys seen any info on this Adcom amp other than the advertised specs?? how does Adcom compare to Rotel?
Are their amps "faster" than Rotel...I'm kinda remembering someone telling me that for Electronic Music their faster response would be a better match than Rotel...... -
