Has anyone heard of any universal players that will play CD, SACD and Blu-ray disks and be better both sonically and with video than the current crop of blu-ray players?

I could be wrong, but the only BD player I know of that also plays SACD is the Playstation 3. No real "universal" players yet that also play BD and/or HD-DVD.

The LG BH100 plays both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

Maybe they're also waiting to see how Samsung's dual format player will do on the market (the LG one, while an interesting early option, isn't fully HD DVD functional, whereas the Samsung is supposed to be).Comment

Has anybody heard when bluray players and related media will ship? I can't seem to find any information regarding this. I know Sony is lauching the PS3 sometime in the the 1st half of 2006 so I figured the dvd players would follow around then.

What are everyone's thoughts on these new universal DVD-A, DVD-V and SACD players? At the moment I have the Denon 1600 which is one of the best DVD players available and it also does DVD-A. I'm also using it as a CD player since I find its DAC's slightly better then those in my Rotel pre amp but I know... -
