    Connections??

    Hello,

Just got a deal on a Yamaha (RX-V595a) receiver & Energy's Take 5 speaker system. Which way do i hook them up:

    1. Speaker (front left & right) directly from Yamaha, cable to subwoofer?

    2. Or wires from Yamaha to subwoofer then wires from subwoofer to Speakers (left & right)

#1 would be the preferred method.

Yes, #1 would be the best.

Don't forget to direct all Bass to the SW, there is a setup section in the 595 to do this.

          Paul,

Do I select SW? Not MAIN or BOTH.

            Yes, just select SW.

Oh, and make sure ALL your speaker settings are set to SMALL.

The Take 5's can't really handle frequecies below 80Hz.

The MAIN or BOTH are really for larger speakers that can handle lower frequency ranges.

Nice catch June. :T The Take5's especially have been one of the best "bang for the buck" speaker systems for several years.

                      Hi,
I have a Sony Audio Receiver STR-DE695 hooked up to 6 in-ceiling speakers and a Yamaha YST-SW115 Subwoofer. Up until recently, the subwoofer worked fine and could be heard appropriately and displayed on the receiver as SW, along with L, C, R, SL, S B, and SR indicating each of the outputs...

                      by Isaac
If you have a 2-channel system with a subwoofer do you let your front speakers run full range (even though they arn't large speakers) and then calibrate the sub to the rolloff? Or, if you have a separate Pre/Pro do you wire it through the subwoofer (4 rca-connections) so you can use the crossover to...
