    Denon 1920.... WOW!

I won this DVD player on the company auction last week for an amazing price. I figured I had 2 DVD players already, Ill give this one a shot, it has HDMI out, lets see what it does, afterall, I still love my old Denon DCD 1530 CD player that is quite old.

So its almost three in the morning and Ive had this DVD player hooked up for about an hr. (it sat on my front step all day unknown to me  )

I unplugged my yamaha SACD/DVD-A player and simply plugged in my Audioquest component, rca, and dig coax cables into this thing.

First disc I popped in a Godsmack acoustic SACD... and right away, im sitting on the floor messing with the player and I notice a dramatic bass improvement. 8O
Play a few diff songs, and yep, its quite amazing.
Toss in a Crossfade CD, and yep, still there, the bottom end has improved much so, that I can put my reciever in pure direct, cut the subs and the N802s are sounding better then ever!

Next step, pop in one of my favorite DVDs, Behind Enemy Lines.
The color is sooo amazing! Im not kidding you guys. The reds, blues and greens are just....... so... red, blue and green! And the sound is still there.

Oh man, im like a kid in a candy store right now! Having a 50" plasma that now is starting to seem like its worth it puts one big smile on my face!
And to have the sound to go with it is the icing on the cake :T

Tomorrow before work I will pick up a HDMI cable and see what tomorrow eve brings wiht some more playing around.

Every detail of a Denon audio product is crafted with a single goal in mind: to enhance the entertainment experience. Build your home theater here.

honestly you should play the lottery with your luck

anyways i initialy had the 1910
i liked it ofcourse but wanted more as at that time it was a universal player for me
so i got the 2910- big improvement in audio and video
i eventialy sold that too as with any dvd player the tracking for cds was too slow for me so went with a cambridge cd player a eventialy an oppo for sacd/dvd/a
what other dvd players do you have?
currently i have the oppo 970 and wonder how it would stack up head to head to the denon

i like there new white display ilumination compaired to the older blue (maybe only the xx30 series has that i dont know)

I have an old Sony that I bought back in... 99? It was one of the first progressive scans. I use it in the bedroom, works fine for that.

I have been using a YamahaDV-C6770 five disc DVD-A,SACD player. It works fine, and I like it because I could toss in 5 discs, of any kind and it would play it.

I picked this up because it had an HDMI output and was also a univeral player. I figured the picture clarity would improve a bit as the yamaha was being converted in the reciever from component to HDMI. I know there are better options out there, but im still shocked at how different the Denon and Yamaha are.

I guess my suprise is the not only the clarity improved, but the color is so vivid and the sound is amazing. That thought didnt even cross my mind when I bought it, it wasnt the reason.

Ah well, happy camper over here.
The journey with the sickness of upgraditus is what makes this hobby so great

And that whole luck thing... hope it stays true. my 27th birthday is 07/07/07 8O

        3 7's ?

Maybe you'll find a 2930ci or a 3930ci on your doorstep. Those will really make your eyes pop with the new chips.

I have one as well. The only thing I don't like about is the menu other than that it's a pretty decent player.

            Which Yamaha do you have?

I have C-950...does the Denon have built in bass management?

Are you using no bass management at all on your Yamaha?

Just sold my Denon DVD-1600 and looking at purchasing a Denon DVD-1920 to replace it. Basically I want a dual purpose player such as DVDA/SACD and good video/sound dacs. Using the HDMI port on Denon 3910
              by Sindhu
Have heard so much about HDMI so have decided to give it a shot. But .....
I have a Denon 3910 with a HDMI out and my Denon AVR 3805 is not HDMI. So if I connect the TV HDMI port directly to the DVD player for the video and use the denon link (as I do now) to connect to the AVR for Audio -- will...

4 CD Players Compared Arcam, Consonance, Denon, Consonance.
              by cafad
Over the last 5 years I have, for various reasons, come into the possession of 4 different cd players (details below). Now I wouldn’t be a budding audiophile if the idea didn’t occur to me, eventually, to find out which one of them was the best. I googled each of them to get the technical specs,...
