wanting to run Microphone with receiver

    Hello,
I am looking to run a microphone for announcements etc for large parties and meetings. I don't see this listed as a feature with most receivers, so do I need a mic amp/phantom power to run the mic through the receiver and speakers? I know they all have mics for the autosetup now, but I would guess this works mainly for autosetup and not much else?

    HI Roly,
Yes, you will need and outboard mic amp and power supply. You will have to plug it into one of the line level inputs on your preamp or processor. You will have to play with your settings if you want the mic to appear at all channels or in different zones. I've never done this with an HT processor only with a stereo preamp where you would put it into the mono mode.
