Are the only significant differences in the Denon 1910 and 1920 DVI vs HDMI and the 1920 having the ability to play SACD's?

It's my understanding that DVD's in HD are in two formats, HD-dvd and Blu-ray. There is no way that I'm going to invest big $$ into a high-def player that only plays half of the formats out there. For this reason, I am opting for paying 1/4 th of the price and getting a progressive upconverting player with HDMI or DVI outputs.danny- Bottom

The 1920 retails for $349, the Toshiba A1 for $499. The difference in PQ/SQ is worth the extra $150. Before I got the Toshiba A1 unit I had a Denon 3910. Trust me when I say, the Denon can not compete with the A1 in PQ and SQ for movies. On top off that the upconvertion of standard DVD's is top notch.Originally posted by volfandanIt's my understanding that DVD's in HD are in two formats, HD-dvd and Blu-ray. by TubbyI just bought a Denon 1910 DVD which has dvi output. It is hooked to a Toshiba 51HX83 RPTV. Is there any advantage to running a DVI cable. The dealer is telling me the componet video is better with an analog tv. I would appreciate any comments. By the way does anybody else own a 1910 ? How good is this...-

by dgineilI saw post from Dean about DVD upconversion problems with an infocus screenplay 5000. Has anyone else experienced this? I also have an sp5000 and assumed it was a problem with the projector itself and not the dvd player. At this point I have tried a Denon 1910 and a Toshiba 5970 (with hdmi to dvi... -

by Aussie GeoffHi,
If you're thinking of a new DVD player and fancying a Denon - have a look at this LINK. Denon will be releasing a new range of DVD players over August / Octoer replacing the 2200, 2900 and 3900 with more features / lower price etc.
I'll be waiting and buying one......-
