I do it based on (each in serperate area), video cables, audio cables, speaker cables, and power cables. Keep the speaker cables and power cables away from each other.

Actually, if you can, keep the power cords away from all the other cables. And if you have to have the power cords cross the others, cross them at right angles.

          Newbie Speaker Cable Question
          by quis
I recently noticed a number of sites with instructions for building your own cables from cat5 network cable. My current set up is a Cambridge A1 amp, low-end Mission speakers (can't remember the model off-hand, but they're two-way bookshelf type mounted on stands). My current cables are some no-name...

Upgrading power cables on my Rotel Equipment?
          by Horacio
I'm contemplating upgrading my system with new power cables and would like to know if you think/know if this would improve sound quality.

I own a Rotel system: RCD-1072 CD player, RC-1070 pre amp, RB-1080 amp, with the power cables provided by Rotel, Nordost interconnects, B&W CM-4s,...

Monster speaker cable demo - is this fair???
          by jeff_free69
I'm a beleiver in good quality speaker wires, just not fanatic about it ...

So I'm passing thru Circuit City and they have a demo station set up for Monster speaker wire. You can switch between a 50 ft spool of their wire and one of some scrawny generic wire and hear the difference....

          Wire/cable Management
          by jimmyp58
With all the gear I have, I have quite a rat's nest of wires behind my racks/RPTV. I am sure many of you can relate! This may be a dumb question but here goes. Does anyone know if there exists a managment system, sort of a conduit, that can be placed behind your racks/tv? I'm thinking specifically of...
