My friend has just purchased this "all in one" DVD and Surround receiver along with the Denon SYS-500SD 5.1 Speaker System. On noticing that it decodes 7.1 Dolby Pro Logic IIX he now wishes to add a further two speakers as surround back channels. He has Denon's Mission Bookshelf Speakers from his Denon Micro System which he is using as the main L + R speakers, and the identical sattellites are being used as surround back speakers. Only now hes run into a problem.
The back of the unit will only allow the additional connection of Surround Back speakers using Phono style connections!! Is it possible to get some phono connectors to terminate the satellite speaker wires so they can plug into the surround back sockets of the amp, and if so what consequences will this have on sound quality?
