I-link? What DVD player do you have with a 1394 output?
But to the point, 1394 or i-link send compressed video, uses the MPEG decoder in the set. Which may or may not be better than the one in the DVD deck.
In general, I'd vote HDMI fr the SXRD.

I concur with Brandon I would vote in the following order:
1) HDMI
2) Component
3) I-Link
However, that being said, the best way to determine is to try each one, HDMI sometimes allow upconversion, Component rarely allows upconversion, and I am uncertain about I-Link specs.
Just my quick thoughts, YMMV.
Peace and blessings,

Yeah it really depends on the player and the set. If the DVD player has a really good component out and the TV has a really good component in and does upscaling better than the player you might get a better picture than a poorly upscaled picture from the player via HDMI....etc
Most likely though, HDMI will be your best bet.Jason- Bottom

by Chris DI wish I could make this non-model specific, but so far, this is all I know of actually delivering to consumers. Got an Integra press release today.
Looks AMAZING for only $800! Note the deep color capability, Audyssey room correction, HDMI upconversion, and HD audio decoding!

by emdeeveeIt took awhile, but I finally found this forum! I just bought a B&K AVR507 (the prior model, not the Series 2). I've not yet hooked it up as I'm waiting for my den remodel to be complete. In anticipation of what DVD player to buy, I'm wondering if DVD-A/SACD signals can be fed throught the IEEE... -
by RolyasmA few thoughts and questions. I see many recievers that "upconvert to HDMI" but don't list any specs. Does that mean they send 1080P over the HDMI, or could it be something else? The next step is that I am looking at Onkyo's 805 and 875. Both upconvert, but the 875 says it uses HQV Reon for...-

by htsteveI am about to take delivery of a Sony 50" SXRD TV. :T I'm also looking at replacing my current DVD player (Rotel RDV-1060) with a HDMI upconverting player. I'm looking a several players with Faroudja processing, amongst others. I've been reading about a macroblocking problem with Faroudja based...-
