Denon AVR-3805, disabling front & centre amps...

Hi ya guys, I'm just in the processing of organising my HT and this may come as an odd question. I've got a Rotel RB-1070 powering my centre and RB-1080 powering my fronts, connected via the pre-outs. Now is it possible for me to disable the 'amps' in the 3805 so as to reduce heat dissipation but it should still understand that the pre-outs are to be given a signal?

    Cheers, Mike

Ok no worries, just called my supplier (about some stands infact) and it seems that the 3805 automatically disables powering the internal amps as there is no closed circuit...sweet

    Cheers.

The power draw on amps with no speakers connected is minimal, so heat dissipation shouldn't be an issue with regards to the unused amps.

        Preamp choices: RSP1068 or RSX1056 or AVR3805?
        by csuzor
Is the better choice the RSP1068 or RSX1056 for pre-amp duty?

I will add the RMB1066 (in bi-amp mode) or the RMB1075.
I am upgrading from a denon1804 to drive B&W700series in 5channels only (no sub yet)

Being budget limited, choosing the RSX1056 allows me to...

Classe Amps - Possible Case for Speaker Wires

Possible case that speaker wires and balanced versus RCA connections make a difference that I had not considered.

This hobby is complex in nature, and it's interesting that one gets to continue learning along the way through experimentation.

Case in point: I have owned...

Denon AVR3805 + Rotel RMB1075/1095 combo to drive my B&W's?

        Hello everyone,

I bought the following set of B&W speakers about a year ago:
        B&W DM604s3 fronts
        B&W DM602s3 rears
        B&W LCR600 center

Right now these speakers are driven by a Denon AVR3805. Now I am thinking of buying a Poweramp and using...

        Powering the RS WTMW
        by kgveteran
I was wondering if a separate thread of how we are powering the center would be helpful. With it's 4 ohm load and dual woofers, what do you guys use.It would be a nice reference that wasn't caught up in the 44 pages that now exist.

I was thinking of two amps that would suit it well.One...
