    home theater hook-up

    I'm usually pretty good at this stuff but I am totally stumped. I have a Sony 36" flat screen, a Magnavox vcr/dvd, a Sherwood 6500 receiver, and a MTS 5.1 home theater speaker system with a powered subwoofer. I can't get anything to come out of the speakers except the am/fm radio. I need help from top to bottom, from square one. I can't find the right combination of outputs and inputs?

      I'm guessing the am/fm tuner is built into the Sherwood?

      Can you give more information on how you have things hooked up? I.e. the color of the female part of the RCA connections on each end (DVD and receiver) along with the name of the input on the receiver you are trying to use?
