    Ground shaking bass...

I just added a sub to my HT system and I'm curently just rediscovering some of my favorites movies...

Some scenes in some movies have IMPRESSIVE LFE effects...

I was wondering also how low where these frequencies??

The "Sub charged" scene (I think it's #15) from U-571 (in DTS) is one of my favorite yet so far... ;x(

Also, in Finding Nemo, the scene where the little girl taps on the aquarium window (#25)... :E

    what are those frequencies ?

    Also, please post yours!!.. :B

I dont get what the big fuss is with the depth charge scene.... Thats one of the few movies that people reccomend that dont impress me at all. Another movie being Bad boys 2. I hear nothing amazing. I do agree finding nemo does sound really good though.

Throw in: I,Robot and Kill Bill Part I and you've covered most of the top LFE Flicks! Man on Fire which you mention is in my top 3 of all time. The newest entry, Batman Begins really stands out as well.

Sin City has some underlying bass that I never heard until I upgraded my sub. Going from a cheap 10" to the SVS PB12 Ultra/2 made me really want to rewatch a few movies.... like the Matrix series.

Forgot about Sin City. Definitely system threatening!

Don't forget the battle scenes from Master and Commander. The sound of canons can really rock your room.

I'll vote for that one as well :T The first time I watched/listened to that scene I nearly ducked and took cover! :P

Open Range with Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner, the gunfight scene is awsome, I was checking myself for holes.

I agree with an above poster, U571 doesn't do it for me anymore.

Open Range and M&C are far more impressive.

Das Boot! is far superior to U571.

There's no better and louder bass then "The Haunting."

I have yet to find any disc that comes close to what that DVD does.

I would like to throw in Behind Enemy Lines....it's been awhile, but I think that had some great bass.

After finally figuring out why my subs didn't "hit it" like they should, I went and revisited some of these films. The "Nemo" glass tap scene is nuts. U-571 was very unimpressive by comparison, and the level meter on the BFD wasn't even up halfway, so while it might be low bass, it doesn't seem to be loud.

My current 'go to' disc for quick bass-checking now is Matrix Reloaded. The first part (first chapter) with Trinity fighting the guards has two very good chest-thumping pops, and where she and the agent are falling and shooting has some very, very loud bass (albeit not subterrainian I don't think).

Batman Begins was really good throughout the whole thing when I watched it at home. When I saw it at the movie theatres, my seat was vibrating for over half the movie.

Watch Flight of the Pheonix(remake) in DTS if you want your room to vibrate like crazy. Intense bass.

I watched 'House on Haunted Hill' (remake) last night, and jeez, if you want to break-in your sub watch the movie. The whole thing is one huge buzzing noise, with a few really good throbs and shakes in for good measure. It was actually annoying after a little while to have everything in the movie buzz, throb, and rumble.
