Which is a better pic for a tv?

    Hey All,

I have been given two offers and needs some advice.

    1) Samsung DLP HL-P4663W w/ a 5 year warranty for $1,500
NO HD tuner, but better overall price and warranty

    2) Samsung DLP HL-R5087W w/ a 3 year warrant for $2,000
Bigger screen, HD tuner, but more expensive.

Both ar great TVs, but I can't decide.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Do you know what chips are in either model or which has better PQ? Really the decision's up to you and your pocket book if there's no discernible PQ difference other than size. You'll have to decide if a little more size and a shorter warranty is worth the extra $$...

Should #2 be the R5085? If so, I'd recommend it. Better contrast ratio: 2,500:1 vs. 1,500:1, built-in tuner, better styling IMO.

The xxx87 is just a newer model of xxx85. Same thing, but without the computer inputs.

Please give me some info to what a PQ is.

        thanks

              :agree:

Go with the better chip, and bigger screen. Better PQ as well.
The Bitterness of poor quality last longer than the joy of low prices.

My buddy has narrowed down his choices of a 16:9 TV set to either a 50 inch Samsung DLP or a 50 inch Hitachi LCD rear Projection - both sets are about 22 inches in depth and after negotiation are both in the same $2,500 price point. He's been roaming the net a bit and everyone seems to be suggesting...
