    Velodyne DLS 4000 subwoofer vs Energy 12.3 subwoofer?

    I'm in the market for a subwoofer and have been trying to decide between the 2 of these. The Energy sub looks impressive with 300 W RMS and 1200 W dynamic power. The velodyne is 200 w RMS but has the the nice remote and the digital sound fields. The Eneregy is rated to go down as low as 19Hz compared to the 25 Hz of the Velodyne. I realize Velodyne makes some awesome subs, and Energy is no slouch either. I can't help but wonder if the DSP sound fields on the Velodyne are gimmicky. I've listened to them both and the changed the DSP makes are very subtle if noticeable. Both are priced competitively as well.

    I'd appreciate any insights.
