    amp?

    hello,

    what kind of power would i need to run a pair of B&W P6?

    The P6's show a sensitivity of 90 db, with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms which can dip to just below 4 ohms at peak. That indicates (on paper) you don't really need a heavy-hitter power amp. Something in a "good" receiver would probably work nicely up to a point, but that 4 ohm loading will cause you some loss of dynamics/compression especially when driving them hard. Having said that, better amplification will give you better sound so go for the best you can afford.

      i'm using a yamaha rxv 3000 now. we want separates in the bedroom. so now on the hunt for a pre-owned rotel pre-amp. just looking for DD & DTS, nothing fancy with EX / ES.
