    Rotel RMB-1075 vs. Parasound HCA-2205

OK, I currently have a 1075 powering my DB1's, but have the chance to upgrade to a 2205.

Should I upgrade or not? I know that the PMC's will love the upgrade with that extra bit of power that they hunger for, but should I?

    I am so confused.

Can you audition the parasound at home and see if you think it makes a difference?

I dont think I would be able to. The shop that has it for sale is local to me, but they advertised it via ebay.

Funny, I made the exact same upgrade.
Started with 1075, now own the HCA-2205AT.
The difference is quite staggering, not just the extra power (the 1075 goes loud enough) but mainly the grip the Parasound has on the speakers.
It's much tighter sounding, and more open.
I would never ever doubt between a 1075 or the 2205 if I had to choose again, and if you have the budget.
Really, knowing what I know now I would've bought the Parasound blindly without ever hearing it.
Luckily the previous owner agreed on letting me use it in my own setup for a day (he came by with the amp) before buying it.
I would never have bought this thing new (a whopping €4500 over here, which is about $5800) but I got a good deal used which was still a lot more than what they cost new in the US ($1999 if i'm correct ?)

Well, there you go. Nothing better than finding somebody who has done the exact same thing that you're considering. Good or bad, the experience is just what you need to know!

Oh things are getting worse.... I have just been offered an RMB-1095 as well. Really not sure what to do now.

Well its all gone wrong. I am now not allowed to buy the amp. The woman has stomped her feet and told me off.
