    Amp Suggestions???

I'm now at the point where an amp would be my next upgrade & really not sure what would be the best way to go. How much power would I need 100-125-150-200 watts? I will use my Denon AVR2802 for now & run my rear channel with it. Would you suggest 2-3-5 channel to start? Budget is around $1500 75% HT 25% music My speakers are:
    Mirage OM-7 Fronts 30Hz-20KHz @ 6ohms 90db
    Mirage OM-C2 Center 38Hz-22KHz @ 8 ohms 91db
    Mirage OM-R2 Sides 80Hz-22KHz @ 8 ohms 90db
    Mirage OM-C3 Rear 40Hz-22KHz @ 8 ohms 91db
I'm leery of purchasing used on Audiogon etc. :banghead:

    Check out ATI

I use ATI pre-pros and amps. I've been extremely happy. In your price range, you can get the 1807 and drive all 7 channels with about 200 watts. Or you could save a little and just drive 5 channels with a 1805 if you still prefer to drive the rear channel with your Denon.

At ATI, we make heavy-duty amplifiers with proven circuitry, meticulous assembly and rigorous testing designed to deliver state-of-the-art audio for years, all designed by us and built in our own US factory. It’s a simple story, American amplifiers built by American people. We hope you enjoy listening.

    Good luck.

      Mirage1,

I own most the equipment that you have, I am currently running 7.1 channels, and have the following amps:

Rotel RMB-1095-powering the center, rears, and center backs
      Rotel RB-1080-powering the fronts.

Of course there are many options here, but here is my personal recommendations based on your budget:

Option1: Cost approximately $1800.00 (after negotiations)

1)Rotel RMB-1075: powering the center and surrounds
      2)Rotel RB-1080: powering the fronts

Option2: Cost approximately $850-900 (after negotiations)

      1) Rotel RB-1080: powering the fronts (bi-wired)

Option3: Cost approximately $1800 (after negotiations)

      1) Rotel RMB-1095: Powering the front, center

I know some options exceed your budget, but you won't regret spending the extra $300.00, if you can stretch it. also these options do not include cabling.

I am partial to option number one, I think it will give you the best bang for the buck. Also consider bi-amping as an with the above options.

If possible, listen to the above scenarios before purchasing, after all it's your money.

I'm sure other forum members will offer some sound advice. Good Luck.

      Regards,

      Azeke

John, are you open to pre-owned equipment? If so, you can get some nice deals on up-quality amps at places like AudioGon. Also, our own Pawn Shop area has some good deals on occasion.
