Porcupine Tree, Blackfield & Rush fans

BIG news for Porcupine Tree, Blackfield and Rush fans.

RUSH Guitarist To Guest On New PORCUPINE TREE Album
    - Dec. 10, 2006

According to a posting on the RUSH fan site Power Windows, PORCUPINE TREE magazine Carbon Nation reports in its latest issue that RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson and KING CRIMSON's Robert Fripp will guest on the PORCUPINE TREE's next album, currently set for release next April via Atlantic Records. Lifeson and RUSH drummer Neil Peart have both expressed their appreciation for the progressive rock band, and engineer/producer Paul Northfiled has also worked with the two acts.

RUSH is currently working on its new studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, STONE SOUR, SHADOWS FALL).

    Fear of a Blank Planet

    01-06-2007

    Roadrunner
Records and Atlantic USA have officially announced the release of the
new Porcupine Tree album "Fear of a Blank Planet" in mid April. The
album features six (mostly lengthy) tracks, and is the band’s most
ambitious and cohesive work to date. Much of it was debuted last year
on tour to a rapturous response from fans.

The lyrical content of the song-cycle on the album is a 21st century
cocktail of MTV, sex, prescription drugs, video games, the internet,
    terminal boredom, and subsequent escape.

More news and previews of the album to follow on this site.

The Best New Album of 2007
    by bigburner
My catalogue of CDs has grown by about 80 items this year so choosing the best new album isn't easy. However with two months to go in 2007 I'm picking "Sky Blue Sky" by Wilco. It boasts lovely melodies, tasteful guitar and interesting lyrics. I like every song on the album.

    by David Meek
I recently picked up Rush's 1989 album titled Presto in its remastered release, and I am truly sorry it has taken me this long to discover this great album.
