Ouch! Allmusic's review of them wasn't real favorable. . . . That means I'll probably like them.

They are a newer rock band. The cd cover I posted was their one and only that I know of. I posted yesterday because I was jamming with them the majority of the day and the disk has some tunes I really like. Of course your miles may vary, but if you found the disk on sale I would say it's worth a purchase. I hesitate to compare them to anyone because I really don't have a broad range of people to compare them to. Many people hate Nickleback and while I only own one cd, the one I own isnt bad. I also own only one Bush cd it it isnt bad at all. If I were to compare I would say along the lines of Bush or Nickleback although I like this disk better than the Bush I have (Sixteen Stone).

Shinedown rocks! IMO, not like Nickelback or Bush at all. They are more pop rock. Shinedown is more dark and intense. Definitely not for the non-rock or even pop-rock crowd. The local modern-rock radio station plays them all the time, especially their acoustic version of "45". I've been meaning to get their album. Thanks for reminding me! :T

Well, I was basing my impression on only 2 or 3 songs of their's that I have heard on the local radio station. But now that you mention it and the more I think about it, there is a resemblence in the lead singer's voice with the lead singer of Nickelback. So I can see how they would come to mind. It's just that Nickelback makes me want to barf; wheras I like Shinedown. That's why I never associated the two before.

Over on Amazon.com, some of the reviews talk about how some people think they are a Christian metal band, but that in their opinions they are not really. I gotta get that album to see what that's all about...

I'm a fan of Nickelback, so I'll give these guys a listen. Thanks.

Just a heads up, there is a new CD out. The one I bought comes with a second CD that has one song on it. "Carried Away" is pretty good. I havent really been able to listen too much to it, but I like the cd ok.
