It was recorded by Chesky Records, they use a minimal approach to recording, trying to keep the signal as pure as possible. Her style is somewhat like Norah Jones. but a little more bluesy (is that a word?).:T
I'd say you're probably bang on the money here.

I have an oldish Chesky sampler CD with a single Sara K track, "Miles Away", which has always managed to stand out due to the quality of the recording.

    Great song too.

I cannot say that I am a big fan of Diana Krall although I do have "The Look of Love" on DVD-A. Most of the tracks seem to exhibit excessive sibilance. Is this normal with her recordings or do I have something else manifesting itself in my system?

I'll have to check it out. I was in the newly renovated Virgin Megastore today in Manhattan's Time Square and couldn't find it so I will order it on Amazon. By the way, the new Virgin Megastore is the most decadent (superficial in a good way) video/music store I have ever seen. If you are ever in NY, it is more than worth the trip to go there.

Anything better than Norah Jones on CD? Yeah, how about Norah Jones on Super Audio CD?

            ADZ,

About the Norah Jones distortion on Track 11, It is very noticable it your system leans towards the high notes. I have recently played with power cables, which have reduced the high end to a softer side. Now it is a lot harder to notice the distortions, but they are still there.

I have CrossRoads. It is very good, but Clapton's One More Car One More Rider is more than a notch better.
These are both great DVD's, but if you like these then by all means treat yourself to Clapton's "Live in Hyde Park" DVD. It also has DTS format. Mr Clapton was definitely on top of his game the night of this concert. His guitar is prominent in the center channel (as it should be) and the solo's are excellent. By the 7th track, "Five Long Years" E.C. takes his leather coat off and gets down to some serious guitar work. ;x( Sit back and enjoy!
This DVD is a must have for any Blues fan, guitar fan, or Clapton fan. :T

I'd say Ray Charles' Genius Loves Company album. The sound quality is superb. I would say that I do think it sounds better than Norah Jones CD. And the music is great too. Highly recommended.

I second Live at Hyde Park as a must have. I first had this title on laserdisc then bought the DVD when it came out. It is my favorite Clapton concert.

I just picked up Modern Cool. That is a very good CD, great quality recordings.

Last night my wife and I went to see one of my favorite female vocalists, Norah Jones at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. We had very good front row, center stage balcony tickets; our seats were directly in line with where Norah sat while playing piano.

This is my attempt to compare what...

                      IMO this is great news!

Pop-jazz sensation Norah Jones has announced details of her brand new studio album.

"Feels Like Home," the follow-up to her Grammy-winning debut "Come Away With Me," will be released on February 10 in Canada, with the track...
