    I suspect the 1st photo is of a quadraphonic LP.
    Yes, analog was producing 4-ch surround long before anybody ever contemplated digital.

    Just for the record, my stylus would never be allowed to touch the groove of any of my LPs in such a state of filth. This certainly demonstrates the value of cleaning your stylus prior to each play. And the result of ignoring the practice.
