I saw a while back a guy in U.K. selling some type of factory service CD that makes Denon 2200 and 2900 region free. He claimed it's completely safe and won't void warranty. Has anyone heard or tried something like this? I made my cheap Samsung DVD player for my bedroom region free with some remote control key combination that was posted on the internet without any problems. Until now I've never seen any region free hacks on high-end players other than Pioneer Elite, but the hacks for Elite models were hardware modified. I know that messing with firmware via CD can be a disaster.

What are the main differences between the denon dvd 2900 and dvd 2200? I recently compared the Rotel rdv 1050 and denon 2910. But from what I have read most of you feel the 2900 is the best option.
