    Watch Dog

Have you ever read a reveiw of a peice of audio equipment in a audio magazine that seems almost 180 degrees out from your listening experience with that same peice of equipment? Do you automatically feel that the audio critics in the mags most know what is right and your measurements and listening experiences must be wrong?
If you want to read some letters by a couple of people who have looked behind the curtain of OZ and found that the wizard is just a little man with a big microphone, go to this website and click on the Watch Dog heading.

Interesting stuff. He presents his site and points in a very well thought out manner. Talented dog too!

The magazines are all jokes. If you open one knowing that you're much better off. Having a 'watch dog' around to help out is helpful too.

not sure how many friends he will make in the audio press industry, lol. But I got to hand it to him, it's about time somebody with some cahunas told it like it is. We all know our print mediums are as influenced as can be by special interests, advertisers, etc...

He might want to do a piece on the online world too, the special interests and monopolistic things going on within our online community. They are there, just like in print-

How to print a pdf template to scale?
          by frascati

I just redrew it using the dimensions there. But for the future. How is it possible to print a pdf to exact scale? I asked at a couple of "computing" forums and was told again and again that you must print, measure, resize, print, measure, resize, etc, to get it right. That seems...

Three Dog Night Fans: Chuck Negron Live
          by Glen B
Are there any Three Dog Night fans here ? I just bought a copy of Chuck Negron's "Live in Concert" CD. It is a nice, updated retrospective of some of the old Three Dog Night hits and worth a listen. To refresh memories, Chuck is the former lead singer of Three Dog Night. I was not aware...

Sometimes, it's nice to learn a little about the folks we talk to every day here at the forum. So, I added a hobbies and special interests section to the profile.

          OUT OF PRINT & REMASTERED
          by JOY DIVISION
This CD is hard to come by. It was released in 1986 and so soon they had it out of print. Special EFX "Slice of Life" CD, I snagged a used but mint condition from a collector in Melrose Ave. for $18.95 and I used to have this CD. I've seen so many imports like what we use to like in the 80's...

TV Movies - Do You Watch ?
          by George Bellefontaine
I know from the various posts that many members of HT Guide watch TV. I honestly watch very little. That wasn't always the case. In the 60's and 70's I was an avid tv watcher- especially of movies. Then in the early eighties I got VCR fever and discovered the wonderful world of commercial-free movies....
