Use both inputs on Bryston 7B?

I've maxed out the inputs on my preamp and was wondering if its possible to use both the unbalanced and balanced inputs on the Bryston simultaneously. Obviously the 'stand-alone' component going straight to the amps would have to have its own volume control, but is it as simple as flipping the switch on the back-panel of the amp to select between the 2 inputs when both are being used? Wondering if anyone with these amps has ever done so.

Joe, you might want to email Bryston on this. I would guess that's an easy question for them to answer...

Then go straight to the electronics shrink. Obviously, you have a problem with all inputs full.

      Joe:

I kinda did it and almost blew the speakers. It happened when I was switching preamps inputs into the 7B's from the CasaBlanca's balanced to the Line 3's unbalanced with the Bryston 'on'. Everything went okay even after the physical switching of cables till I flipped that switch... A crap load of noise came through the speakers and fortunately the thing was built tough enough not to suffer any damage. Don't do it!

        pf,
I guess then it sort of defeats the purpose if I have to power cycle the amps every time I want to switch amp inputs. Thanks for the info.

Halo Ax1 Balanced Inputs Level Question
          by wildfire99
This may be an Anthem issue or a Parasound one, but I'm thoroughly confused about it. Here's the question:

I recently switched my interconnects for my system (Anthem AVM30, Halo A21 and A51 amps, plus Behringer BFD for the sub) from RCA to XLR. I dutifully switched the amps to 'Balanced'...

My Bryston SP 1.7 Review (long)
          by jimmyp58
Sometimes it’s the simple things that make life sweeter. Take for instance the Bryston SP 1.7 pre-amp processor that I just received the other day. It is very simplistic yet it performs in an astounding manner. From the moment you take it out of the box until the time you turn it on for the very...

          A51 - unbalanced inputs how?
          by glimmer
          Hi all,

          Planning to purchase an A51.

But, I have a Tag Mclaren AV32r processor(unbalanced outputs only) currently and how do I connect the Tag to the A51 (balanced inputs only)?

Yeah, I know I should replace the Tag with a C1 or C2,...but my...

          Bypass mode for unbalanced inputs?
          by netarc
Just got my C2 a couple of days ago - have a question re: the bypass mode ...

If I understand the manual correctly, the C2's bypass mode *only* works for a balanced analog input??

What, then, if one is running an external DAC (or a good CD player) that only has unbalanced...

Connecting balanced pre-amp to unbalanced amp
          by toledoguy
I've got a question, and I think I know the answer, but what the heck. I have decided to spend some money to move from big box store mediocre equipment to higher end seperates. It's a slow process as I research everything that I possibly can before I buy. I have a Rotel RM-1050 to power the front...
