    100 posts and counting

[sound of party favors and confetti flying through the air]

Well, guys we finally hit 100 posts in this forum. Not bad for the short period of time that HT guide has been open. If you guys want to discuss anything about 2 channel audio feel free to start a new discussion or jump in on a current one.

Yes Michael, it is Parte' time! We are reaching milestones left and right. 100 members, 100 posts in 2 channel, over 500 posts in remotes, lol. The list goes on.

But the most special thing about HTGuide to date is not only the quality and knowledge of the member base, but also how active the membership is. Let's face it, once a forum has existed for a while, your member count can be high. But the actual number of people posting can be a poor representation of the number of members. So, I think what is truly important is the number of active members and of course, the content. I think our numbers indicate that we have a very active membership base, and a very knowledgable one too. I can't think of to many questions that have went unanswered. I mean everyone that is active being totally stumped!

Lastly, I can't say enough about the fine job our Moderators are doing. These guys are going the distance for you, the member. Remember, all that they do is for YOU.

    Lex

An active TMM wave guide speaker

I’ll start this off by saying that I will never build another system without a wave guide. If there are any downsides, I don’t see them.

This system uses 2 RS180 midbass and one XT25tg60 (double magnet) in a wave guide crossed actively at 1700hz. The XT25/60 is superior to the single...

      Active vs Passive: an experiment

I know not many here run active systems, but I thought I'd share this since Jon is probably one of the few who can shed light on the causes of the differences I heard.

So I've been working on some small TM's for the last year and finally came to a place where I was happy with the voicing...

      Active Crossover Help
      by jpb6061
I've enjoyed reading some of jon Marshes posts, and note that he mentions a fair amount of experience with active crossovers. (I'm sure that there are a lot of others of you out there as well!) Some of the comments in the thread regarding foil core inductors got me thinking....

Hypex has released its 6-channel active unit, their "DLCP":

At 550 Euros, it isn't cheap, but I've noticed more active filter posts here over the past year, so here's another active option. You've probably heard/seen the DIY success of Hypex's class...
