    Initerested in Active Crossovers?

Hypex has released its 6-channel active unit, their "DLCP":
This website is for sale! hypexshop.com is your first and best source for all of the information you’re looking for. From general topics to more of what you would expect to find here, hypexshop.com has it all. We hope you find what you are searching for!

At 550 Euros, it isn't cheap, but I've noticed more active filter posts here over the past year, so here's another active option. You've probably heard/seen the DIY success of Hypex's class D NC400 amp module.
I'm not affiliated with Hypex in any way - just wanted put this out there for consideration. I probably won't post any more on here - no time and I currently am not considering buying one of these. John?

    The wrong "Jon"

This is an interesting alternative to the MiniDSP, though the price will not be seen as particularly competitive. I'll be curious to see how the reviews turn out. I'm guessing they must be using an ASRC IC in the front of the digital chain, as they accept up to 192 kHz input rates, but process at 96 kHz (unless I misread on my initial scan of the data sheet). That's not all that unusual; this is sort of what the original Benchmark DAC did- internal processing rate was 110 kHz, as this was the highest possible with the high rejection anti-aliasing filters, and in principle should result in better output (it's hardware processing limitation in the TI/BurrBrown chip used in that product series).

Looks like it's the start of a release of material/modules, but a lot of details are hazy- output volume control? It supports an IRDA input- What are the remote protocols? Is there an off of the shelf remote that would work with it? Ganging multi-channel volume controls together? (they do apparently intend it to directly interface with UCD and NCORE amps- this implies a built in digital or analog volume control). Converters? DSP bit depth? Software to support programming? Types of filters offered? This looks more like a core board for an OEM, not a DIY hobbyist. And that would still require a healthy application manual to support, this data sheet doesn't even start.

The main issue I personally see with this kind of product, is just how good is the A/D and D/A? Clocks, etc. It wouldn't make much sense in the context of a system with a high end DAC, even just something like an NAD M51, which I think is the best DAC you can buy for under $3K or so.

Oh, I guess I'm the "John" you're referring to. That does look nice! I'm committed to an analog solution, for my dipole line array though. I know the waters look a bit rough right now, but it will all come together. Thanks for posting that Hank, interesting!

It’s an Oppo BDP-95 to be precise, which includes the highly regarded SABRE32 Reference ES9018 DAC from ESS Technology. The BDP-95 uses two ES9018 chips – one for the 7.1-channel output, and another for the dedicated stereo output.

I bought the BDP-95 because I want to get into the...

        Hi All
Ages since I was doing speaker DIY but a requirement for a new sound system was created when I purchased an intel NUC for a HTPC.
What with the only speakers being those in the TV I saw the need to improve on this situation.

I had a left over Modula MT minus the xover...
