    Why Concertinos?

Why the hell not? Bob the "Gaffer", my friend from California was here today, and he just had to go to the local audio shop. lol.

I say this because there, lying in the floor alone, in a corner, on the carpet, without "current" was a set of Sonus faber Concertinos in Walnut. Oh, are these the new "Home" series speakers from Sonus faber? Nope, original "Concert" series vintage. Price? a mere 722 bucks plus tax, out the door.

They were alone, and I am alone. They needed me. I can't help it. So, Tina and Sheree, came home with me.

That makes 7 Sonus faber speakers in my home. What number is enough? I will let you know when I get there. :B

Right now, debuting them to the inset of the Grand Prix's on custom "bar stool" stands. lol.

I have not decided the configuration as yet for the new "tinos", but whatever it is, I am sure the 3 of us, no wait, the 8 of us will be very happy together, lol.

    Wait...I can just see it:

Lex's S/O tip-toeing to see over the circular wall of SF speakers in all shapes and sizes to tell him to get out and get some fresh air.

    Congratulations on the adoption!

You were a real humanitarian to save those 'Tinos from their destitude Lex, we could all learn from your kindness.

Must be why I don't go to the Audio Salon or the SPCA, just know I would have to adopt something.

Thanks guys. I keep hearing these things say ever so softly:

        "Guarni Hommage" "Guarni Hommage"

All I can tell them is no, no, no. They are only a mere 22K, LOL.

Yeah, I think we should start an "adopt a speaker" program. It's damn time somebody did it! lol

Yes, Lex, you've made the world a better place. Giving underapprciated equipment a deserving home is one of the higher goals in life we should aspire to- though my ex wife never saw it that way. My daughter is a little more understanding; hopefully she will retain that attitude when she finds her significant other someday.

Meanwhile, ThomasW has displayed his incredible Aragon Karma, and uncovered another deal in the used Aragon market, a deserving 8002. Being the clever sort that he is, he's holding it hostage for delivery to the Bay area division of KloneAudio, and I won't be able to "liberate" it until I make my visit to Denver in May- he'll get the help he wants on his new speaker project!

          Happy Easter, everyone!

          -Jon

Sweet on the Aragon Jon. I have heard nothing but good things about those amps. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Wasn't the smartest financial decision right now, but it was a good move for my theater to add total soundstage balance and timbre match to my theater. It's just a tough decision to remove those 10 inch woof Kappa 7.1s back there that aren't a bad match themselves. It's a catch 22 if ever!

Lex you did a good thing and should be nominated for parent of the year. I heard those speakers the week before, they were hooked up at that time. They were wonderful sounding, offered a good deal on them as well. Congrats!

Thanks John. Perhaps someday you can hear them all 7 together. Whether a casual audition or an htguide cookout that just might be in the mix down the road a bit.

Glad you didn't buy them! It's sort of cool that you heard them in the showroom. Online, that's a rarity.
