Hi Chazz, welcome to The Guide! :later:

It is possible, but I don't think changing the speaker connections will give you anything listening-quality-wise. Generally speaking, receivers that have spring-clip type speaker connects are fairly inexpensive and have commensurately inexpensive amps/component pieces. Going to 5-way binding posts won't change the make-up of the rest of the receiver's pieces. In other words, it'd be a good bit of effort for little or no gain.

I'd save the money you'd spend on the mod as a start on upgrading. However, if you're determined to try, check out Parts Express. There's a link at the top of the page - do a search on "binding posts" to start with.

As always, this is just my 2 cents.

This design came together quick once I got to the point of selecting drivers. I spent several months reading and learning how to design xovers, here and over at PE Tech-Talk.

4 speaker posts on my new RB1080
      by phillipk
I just added the RB1080 to my RSX1056 and it looks like I can hook up 4 speakers (I only want 2 naturally). Are the extra posts for bi-wiring? My cables are only bi on the speaker end. So... I don't hook up jumpers to the amp do I? Do the second set (left unused) just not draw power?

Help from an experienced B&W owner - how do I remove those little plastic plugs in the middle of the speakers posts on the 804s? They are currently preventing me from connecting speaker wires that make use of banana plugs.

      Cheers

The Cambridge Audio 651W is now my new go-to amplifier for small and portable for speaker measurements. I got spoiled by the Benchmark AHB2- the 651W isn't truly an AHB2 replacement, but it's as close as you have any right to expect...
