    Hi Guys,
Are those SPL APS in smartphones any good?

we use SoundAnalyser V4.2. on our Androids.
compared it to our calibrated microphones and performs surprisingly well.

Exploring Common DIY Terminology - SPL (Sound Pressure Level)

        SPL (Sound Pressure Level)

SPL stands for sound pressure level, and it is a measure of the sound intensity or loudness at a specific location relative to a reference level. It is commonly used to quantify and describe the loudness of sound in various audio applications, including loudspeaker design, room acoustics, and sound engineering. Sound pressure level is expressed in decibels (dB) and is calculated using the following formula:

        SPL (in dB) = 20 * log10(P / Pref)

        High SPL mic?
        by Amphiprion
I am looking for a (hopefully inexpensive) microphone to do some subwoofer distortion measurements. Specifically, I am looking to feed band limited (20-100Hz) high amplitude noise to a sub and measure the distorted output signal as free from reflections as possible. This will probably be done outdoors...

Does tweeter dispersion affect it's SPL compared to a woofer at different distances?

Hope my question was clear enough.

Here's what happened. I'm taking a second look at a project I finished some time ago (The Monoliths). They are a 2.5 speaker, using the Peerless 830884 (apparently discontinued) and the SEAS 27TFC.

Specifically, I was taking farfield measurements...

I would like the ability to do some basic measurements and plots of my system. I want to be able to do nearfield speaker frequency response measurement, and subwoofer (even below 20Hz) measurement. I would also like to be able to look for room modes and nulls at the listening position. It would...

Just a quick reminder of how important accurate measurements with a SPL meter is when setting volume levels..

Call me lazy, but I've been tweaking by ear for the past 6-8 months. After switching from my RMB1095+RMB1066 to the RMB1066 only and then back, I wound up just getting the levels...
