Hey all, tonight....I just tried to listen to a concert using my headphone amp via my Rotel amp using my tape out's via my Rotel's digital inputs and it does not work!. Why??. Does the Rotel not covert the digital signal to analog or must I connect everything via it'a analog out's to use the headphone amp via the tape out output??. ARGH !!! :roll:

Is that what you mean? If so, that shouldn't work because the tape out is usually just a bridge from the analog inputs. It does not get processed.

I send my PS3 audio signal to my Rotel using an optical cable. I quickly learned that these digital connections and the sound that the receiver decodes from them will not be transferred to the analog tape outs of the unit so I could hook my headphone amp to it. The PS3 of course does not have analog... -

I *may* have the ability to pick up a pair of meridian active speakers that I would use as mains but these beasties only accept digital inputs. does anyone know how successful I would be using them with the 1066 if I were to get them?

I am running an optical input to Video1 from a satellite receiver. I have 5 cable outs of 5 channels (RCA audio) outputs going to amp, but need to have additional 2 channel outs to the TV so I can have amp system off for quite viewing. My cd player is hooked up both by analog cables and an optical cable to my RSP 1068. When I go to the input menu for Listen:CD I set it to Optical 2. Ok, I then go and play a cd. When I'm in PCM 2 CH mode I cannot choose Bypass or stereo...
