I'd like some input (no pun intended)

Input on whether we have a basis for a separate analog audio section.

I've had a request for it. I personally don't see the problem in a Fine audio section, as I thought this was intended, combining analog and solid state. however, if you guys really think we are missing the mark, this is your chance to respond. Will you contribute? Who's in for it?

I'm open to INPUT now, this is your chance. We do not take the definition of new sections lightly, so there will need to be some real response here.

    thank you.

Was the request for an "analog(ue)" section (in contrast with digital), or was it for a tube audio section (in contrast with solid-state?)

Comparing analog(ue) and solid-state is like comparing apples to Mack trucks.

My thought is the single area is probably adequate since there isn't a lot of traffic anyway.

        I'd agree--with lower traffic, I'd say we don't need a dedicated section.

Well, you know, a dork like me sees them as extricably bound up together, unless you're talking vinyl rigs.

But it doesn't seem like the volume of posting and discussion right now would justify that - unless someone could make a case about why that creation would increase the amount of discussion and interest. Pure analog, no digital, this gets into the area of vinyl phono preamps, headphone amps, analog preamps- all good topics, but considering how systems are evolving, do we need a separate area?

I think an interesting development is the evolution of DAC's into complete control centers and incorporating traditional preamp functions. That can even include ADC of analog inputs, though that's less common.

Very different vibe over there , though. Think 'Garage Sale'. I'm convinced now , though. I'm voting.

                HI Folks,
My post presenting my Pocket Rocket 805 system generated interest concerning subwoofer integration. I’m writing this in response to that interest and because I assume that others are facing the same issues. I’m making this a new post because I think it will be more accessible here...

                Hi everyone,

(new member warning - mods please move this thread if it's in the wrong place)

Now that I'm nearly finished building my Statement II's, my current receiver (Marantz NR1501 @7x50W) is too underpowered to drive them. Building these speakers (incl. designing/stuffing...

Is there an analog bypass for CD input on RSP-1098
                by vsarathy
                All,

I didn't get any answers from 1098 owners on a related thread that I had started earlier. So, I thought that I would pose a more direct question to those that own a 1098.

In so far as I can figure out, the analog bypass seems to exist on the 1098 only when you are...
