Is there an analog bypass for CD input on RSP-1098

    All,

I didn't get any answers from 1098 owners on a related thread that I had started earlier. So, I thought that I would pose a more direct question to those that own a 1098.

In so far as I can figure out, the analog bypass seems to exist on the 1098 only when you are making use of the 6-channel inputs that one would typically for DVD-A/SACD playback.

My question was that if you connected your CD player to the analog inputs meant for CD in the AUDIO IN section of the back panel, do you still get a pure analog bypass?

I am sure that a $3000 processor should do this. But, there is a (confusing) section in the manual that says that all analog inputs are converted to digital signals.

    Thanks
    Viji

Yes there's a bypass mode...if you're using analog inputs simply press the stereo button until the display says bypass (its a toggle b/n Stereo and Bypass)

Question about Analog Bypass on RSP-1098
      by vsarathy
      All,
I have been thinking of getting the Rotel 1072 CD player. As it has very good DACs on board, I intend to connect to my RSP-1098 controller with analog cables.

There is a section in the manual that says that all analog inputs are upconverted to digital signals. It seems to...

Shootout : Parasound C2 vs Rotel 1098 (long)
      by DrBoom
Well, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)
I actually own both of them,...

      RSP-976 analog inputs not working
      by pasiparkkila
My RSP-976 does not route any of the 2-channel analog inputs to the
surround outs. I.e. when I connect my DVD player to Video 1 using the analog audio inputs I get no sound regardless of what the input setting for Video 1 is in the menu. When I make the audio connection using one of the digital...

"Official" results of programmable channel use with multichannel 7.1 analog inputs
      by Chris D
There has been some concern and confusion here about whether the programmable channels work on the C1/C2 when listening to a source through the 7.1 multichannel analog inputs.

I did some testing on my C1 to get the real answer in operation, not out of a book. The answer is that it depends...

Analog inputs on 1057 not working?
      by marano
So I received my new Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD Player today and I'm trying to hook it up via the analog inputs but I'm not getting any sound. I have Video1 on my Rotel RSX-1057 receiver set to Analog (Is there anything else that needs to be set?) but I didn't see anything on the Toshiba to set it to analog...
