    Why we need multi-channel audio...

    I recently watched Tron:Legacy. I enjoyed the orginal so I suppose I was predisposed to this flick. The movie was cool but the soundtrack by Daft Punk was awesome. It sounded so good in surround and really blew me away.

    Soooooo, I ran over to my library to pick up a copy of the 2-channel CD soundtrack. Wow, what a dissapointment. The music itself was fine but without the multi-channel presentation I just pales in comparrison to what was on the bluray. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good but it's just missing that "umph" that was on the bluray. It lacked the immersion...

    I know SACD is a niche format (and for all intents and purposes DVD-Audio is dead) but a soundtrack like Tron is exactly why we need a multi-channel format.

    Just my 2 cents.....
    The second place winner is the first place loser.

    An argument with reality is one you'll never win.

    If you are offended, you are complicit in the outrage.

    It's better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

      Hello;

      I picked up TRON Legacy last week and when viewing I noticed numerous times what seemed to be distortion/clipping coming from my front speakers from the intense soundtrack. This has been the first film I have noticed this occur on any movie and I was wondering if anyone else has...

      Watched Tron last night and since there don’t seem to be a review… here it goes.

      I had the VHS version for many years and have enjoyed it very much. While watching the tape however, I always felt that the film seemed dated. I got the tape because at Disneyland when the people mover...

      Tron - a review

      This is a 2 disc set that was relased in early January. I finally got around to watching it and boy did it bring back some memories.

      The story is about an ex-employee trying to find some evidence in the mainframe to prove that his ideas were stolen. The only problem is the ever growing...

      DVD/Soundtrack combo
      by Greg Stone
      Would you spend an extra $10 - $12 dollars on top of the DVD price if the soundtrack was included? Just like a flipper DVD, you could have the movie on one side and the soundtrack on the other.

      Some movies I would really like this option, such as Almost Famous. I've also heard the Finding...
