My father has a beautiful Rotel Michi RHB10 poweramp driving his Martin Logan Quest Z speakers. The sound this poweramp produces is soooo beautiful, the midrange, dynamics and power is to die for.

I intend to audition a Quad 909 (140w X 2) power amp in my 705 based HT/music system to improve the 2ch sound. While I am waiting for one to become available for audition I would be interested if anyone else has tried this amp with B&Ws.

What are the characteristics of good home speakers which are suitable for techno/rock/pop?Can I listen to techno/rock/pop with "laid back and warm" speakers or do they have to be forward and bright speakers?
