Great News. About time they started getting the high-res formats going again. I hope this is a sign of things to come. I just read in one audio mag that all the big recording companies had all but pulled out of the SACD market and SACD was all but a dead format. But, hopefully Sony will start promoting these high-res formats like Bluray HDMA and SACD.

They did but that was a couple of years ago. SACD is however far from dead. Relatively small, independent labels have kept the format going with a steady supply of about 60 new titles per month, bringing the total already far over 5,500 -- not bad compared to BD for instance :-)Originally posted by JohnloudbI just read in one audio mag that all the big recording companies had all but pulled out of the SACD market and SACD was all but a dead format.- Bottom

by gmeardiHi, I'd like to know if anybody has some news about a new HDMI 1.3 compatible Rotel sound processor.
After having built a good sacd library, I've recently moved to Blu-Ray and I'd like to upgrade my (still good) RSP-1066 to decode:
- SACD via HDMI (actually is via analog 5.1 input)...-

On the back of this Jeff Beck Bluray disc "Live at Ronnie Scotts" it lists the audio format as LPCM stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS HD Master Audio.
LPCM (Lossless Pulse Code Modulation) Stereo, is...-

by Ben1066 owners – I ‘m asking for advice! I’ve had an RSP 1066 on order since May, when the initial shipment to Australia sold out.
Now ‘my’ unit is due to arrive in Oz in just a week – and Rotel still has not corrected the bass management issues in the firmware.

by bandit788Been buying up a bunch of the best DVD-A's and SACD since I've got my new Marantz receiver (SR6005), but I am so freakin confused about all the audio formats!!! My seven year old receiver was a little Denon 2105, worked fine but I wanted HDMI and a better receiver. I took out my Denon 2900 SACD/DVD-A...-

by basementjackIt's with much sadness that the SACD / DVD-A formats never took off. It was always on my "to-do" list, but the players were always too expensive.
Now I've found a dealer with a $99 Pioneer model that plays both DVD-A and SACD -Yet it appears it is 2 years too late - there...-
