    Your Feedback on New System (Version 2)

    One reaches a point in life where rational justification takes a back seat to the life-is-short argument. Thus, my original thinking on a new 2-channel audio system has taken the following turn:

    Paradigm Signature S8 speakers
    Audio Research SP16L preamp
    Bryston 3B SST or 4B SST power amp
    Cambridge Audio 840c CDP.

    The synergy seems to be there. Your thoughts?

      Again.....your ears are the judge, but on paper, I concur, it should sound mighty nice !

      FWIW, I have been a diciple of William Zane Johnson, the founder of ARC, for a long time. I also had the "16" pre in my system at one time, I suspect you will be very happy !!

      Now go let your ears have a climax !!!

          Should be a very transparent sounding system, will definitely reveal weaknesses recordings I would think

              If I was forced to listen to that system I certainly wouldn't slit my wrists.

                  Thoughts on Bryston SP1.7 pre for my 803D system?

                  Hi,

                  I currently have the 803D & HTM2D combo.

                  I am thinking of using the following:

                  Bryston SP1.7
                  Bryston 6B SST or 3x 7B SST

                  Not sure on the DVD yet, however marantz is currently sitting number 1.

                  Has anyone had a chance to listen to this new integrated amp from Bryston? Any opinions? I recently had a chance to audition it (the model with the onboard DAC) with B&W's 803S's and I was very impressed...
