    Speakers on Subs?

First post to what looks like good forums.

I have a pair of velodyne subs and a pair of large bookshelf size speakers. If I set the speakers directly on the subs they are too low but I am not sure what a set of stands on top of the sub will look like.

I was curious if anyone has a setup similar to this?

Unless you can find some really short stands...most normal sets of stands would put the speakers too high when placed on top of a sub. Your best bet might be to build your own stands to the correct height to put the tweets right around ear level...then you can design them to look however you want and function correctly.

I'd also look into some type of de-coupling idea to isolate the speakers from the vibrations of the subs (maybe some nice Vibrapods or something).

Sealed AviaTrix plus 2 subs with one sub amp?
      by grcassidy
After a bit of head scratching and some great help from forum members I've decided that I'll do my L/C/R as an AviaTrix build. Since I need to put the L/R on stands anyway I thought I might as well build 10" subwoofers into the stands (I've seen these being called "bass bins"). Alternatively...

Hello everyone. This has puzzled me for quite some time now. Any comments regarding this will be highly appreciated and will help me not waste money, thanks.

I want to have good HT and be able to listen to decent stereo sound. I noticed from auditioning receivers and (surround pre-amp...

      Vibrapods Rule!
      by stantheman2
I've been toying with some means of vibration suppression under my Denon DVD-2200 for a while. Last week I broke down and popped for a set of Vibrapods - what was there to lose except a measly $24? I installed the 'pods four days ago and have been doing some critical listening (CDs exclusively) since....

      5 vs 9 speakers. DIY
      by crytklmass
Just a quick background. I am building a 130 inch AT curved screen in my basement. I have already built 5 qsc 2150 clones. 5 total: fronts, left, center, right, 2 sides and a pair of sr8101 for rears. (cheaper to buy than diy). I also have 4 1,000 watt 15" subs. Basement has a vinyl floor (I may...

B&W or Sanus stands for 805S- how do they speakers attach?
      by tboooe
Hi there. I am thinking about getting some stands for my 805S which are currently sitting on bar stools...

My question is, how do the speakers attach to the stands (screws, velcro, etc). I have a young daughter and another one coming so I want to make sure my precious speakers are...
